I have watched the videos on podcasts and found it to be very interesting. Engaging into this new technology is a big step for me but I am enjoying it. I know that I need to be well rounded with the technology. Some of it I do like but others I can really do without. The SmartBoard lessons podcast were interesting because you can connect with people so far away. Being able to learn from a different culture or viewpoint can be very helpful than just reading from a text book about the culture. Teachers and students can learn directly from the source which is very accurate.
The EdTechTalk was astonishing. I can't even imagine having a portable device in a classroom when I was 12 or 16 years of age. It shows how not having technology at students' hands is not being beneficial anymore. I really can relate to this because when a teacher would like u to find something on youtube or something, having a cell phone with the internet would be quick and easy. I also find it to helpful to parents or students who are on their own to buy a phone with internet because it would be less expensive as well .
The MacBreak Weekly was too interesting. It is really reassuring to be able to hear people directly about a vacation they have taken or anything beyond that. The two students who went to Japan were able to share an experience to the world. They talked about the culture of the Japanese and how it was different from ours. I believe that if people of all cultures were to share their experiences from where they have visited, I believe traveling could increase tremendously. Not only traveling but other topics such as cooking recipes. I believe if we wanted to cook a Europe dish, I should be able to find and cook it originally. I don't know if people take advantage of it in this particular way but if it does I would like to know.
I have listened to all of these podcasts and it was very overwhelming and I figure that I have a lot of learning to do. I have been introduced to a new world and it will be so exciting to teach my students every little detail of technology that I know. I know that I will have an outreach to my students

Mr. Robinson: Creativity
I sometimes agree and disagree with his comments. I believe creativity still do exist in schools and sometime it is suppressed. Every teacher that I know of has some kind of art work on their bulletin board that children have done. Sometimes the art work is strange, funny, or sometimes perfect but the kids did express themselves. On the other hand, Some educators have the tendency to tell their students how they want them to color their color sheets and don't let them be creative. I have not had access to numerous schools but the ones that I have visited had a lot of creativity. Another way to suppress creativity in schools is establishing dress codes. I personally don't disagree with it but it doesn't let their personality and creativity show itself.

Did you know 3.0 and Mr. Winkle Wakes
The "did you know" video was kind of scary. It made me realize that the United States is kind of lacking in some areas. Its good to know how technology is growing rapidly and being an outreach to our future generation. They are the main people that need to know how to maneuver these technologies so that we can all grow as a whole. I think the comment about the honor kids was astonishing. It let me know that the U.S is very lazy and behind in academics. I think in the end our future students will be in an era where all they will have to know is how to handle a computer and not know anything because info will be available in seconds.
The Mr. Winkle video made me think how will it be years and years from now. We could have flying cars or we could maybe cook a turkey in 3 seconds. I hope that it will not defeat us but help us in the end. It is also scary to think that machines can outsmart us any day.

Vicki Davis: Harnessing your students' Digital Smarts
I think going in a direction of just using technology is very enhancing to student's minds. On the other hand, paper and pencil will get us by when the technology decides to crash. It isn't certain that the computers will be up and running every day or what if mother nature decides to take action and power goes out. All im saying is paper and pencil will not hurt in some areas. Technology is risky factor if we depend only on IT! Although, computers and such are great tools for us to learn different lifestyles other than your own and gives a student quick access to learn.
